Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of disorders affecting movement, balance, and posture. It is caused by damage to the developing brain, typically during pregnancy or childbirth, but can also occur during the early years of life. Risk factors for CP include premature birth, low birth weight, multiple births, infections during pregnancy, and maternal health conditions. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include spasticity, involuntary movements, coordination difficulties, and speech and language problems. There is no cure for CP, but treatments such as physical therapy, medication, and surgery can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
